Man arrested, charged with Murphysboro gun shop burglary

MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) - Police have arrested a man in connection to a gun shop burglary on November 25.

Michael Shane Satterwhite, 35, of Murphysboro was arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 29 and charged with burglary, theft of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

Police say shortly after 3 a.m. on Nov. 25, officers were alerted to a burglar alarm at the business. Police found the front door broken where they say someone went into the business.

Two handguns were reported missing from the gun shop.

Investigators say Satterwhite was identified as a suspect after an investigation.

At the time of arrest, police say one handgun was recovered.

Satterwhite was taken to the Jackson County Jail, pending a court appearance.
