And while it's still November we're getting a nice dose of a December chill through the Heartland this morning. Tune in to see what Brian is forecasting for your area so you know what to wear and how to bundle up the kids this morning.
Today is a big day for the medical community and patients taking Lipitor. This is one of the popular drugs used to treat high cholesterol. Today the drug's patent runs out, which mean companies can start making generic brands. This in turn should mean it will cost a lot less. We're working to find out when that will be available in this area.
There are also some changes happening and being discussed for some well known Heartland businesses. First, the Buzzi Unicem plant at the south end of Cape. Today they are hoping to hear from the public about a proposal to use liquid hazardous waste that must be burned in the kiln. This morning we also have new information about the daily Cape Air flights out of the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport. Getting through security once you get to St. Louis just got easier.
And here's something that's easy to do - clipping coupons. But did you know if you use them without reading the fine print on back you might end up losing out on better deals? We'll show you why at 5:20 this morning.
On The Breakfast Show today we're also talking about a weight loss diet that helps you lose a lot of weight without exercising. But it's very controversial. Around 5:45 this morning we'll tell you all about it.
Here in Cape Girardeau, leaders from area communities will be meeting to discuss disaster response. While the Heartland is used to dealing with relatively small disasters, it's been a long time since we've seen destruction on the scale of what Joplin faced earlier this year. Today the Joplin chamber president will be talking about how his town is bouncing back after the tornado. We're live talking about this throughout the show today.
Jim and Lauren will also be getting you up to date on the GOP presidential race. Over the last 24 hours there have been hints of a major candidate dropping out of the race.
This morning they also have a couple stories that'll either leave you speechless or spark your interest. There's a new trend in Santa pictures with the kids... and it involves guns. See the story around 5:25. And if you or anyone in your family collects comic books - get their attention with this story... a single comic book could be about to sell for around $2,000,000 at an auction!
We'll also show you the video that's burning up the internet this week where two Corvette drivers decide to race each other from a stop light only to end up in the trees and as YouTube video stars.
Today Lauren is also putting the Bulldog Remote Car Starter to the test. Is this your answer to avoid going out to a cold car in the morning or is it just a big waste of time and money? See her Does it Work test at 6:15 this morning.
Thanks for getting up early with us today, so far there are no school closings like yesterday.
