WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - A southern Illinois teen pleaded guilty to charges that he was driving impaired when he struck and killed a pedestrian more than two years ago.
Larry Sanders, 19, pleaded guilty to aggravated driving under the influence on Monday. He is being held in the Williamson County Jail.
Police say Larry Sanders of Herrin hit Teneva Archie of Colp with his car while she was walking across the street in September 2009.
Police says Sanders tried to drive away but hit a power pole, so he ran off.
He eventually turned himself in to police a couple of hours later.
