Who is in charge of the people in charge? Just yesterday we learned Hayti's mayor and an alderman stand among seven accused of stealing funds from Pemiscot County.  So tonight we're asking, "Who's in charge of the people in charge?" Holly Brantley looks into the checks and balances.

A deep low pressure system moving through the mid-south brought the season's first significant winter weather to much of the region overnight and this morning causing slick roads and canceling or delaying dozens of schools.

One person was killed in a crash on KY 730 in Lyon County this morning on a wet road.

The Carbondale Police Department arrested two men accused of burglary.

County leaders voted to ban synthetic marijuana in McCracken County last night.

Starting January 1, it will no longer be legal for Illinois residents to dispose of unwanted electronics in their regular trash.

Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson's former doctor, was sentenced to the maximum four years in prison after a jury convicted him Nov. 7 of involuntary manslaughter for the pop star's 2009 death. He will also be required to pay restitution, the amount to be determined at a later time.
