An early evening crash in Jackson County, Illinois sends a mother and her three children to the hospital with serious injuries.
The wreck happened around 5 p.m. Monday evening on North Reed Station Road just south of East Clayton Road in Carbondale.
Jackson County Sheriff's deputies say the car driven by 20-year-old Cesar Anacleto veered into oncoming traffic hitting the van driven by Amy Welling.
Deputies say the impact caused major damage to both vehicles.
They also say Welling had her three children in the van with her. They were all taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. One of Welling's children was taken to a St Louis hospital for further treatment.
Anacleto was cited for not having a valid driver's license and not having proof of insurance.
