OLIVE BRANCH, IL (KFVS) -

Some people in Olive Branch say they have a stinky situation in their town.

Kevin Masterson of Olive Branch says the storm sewers near his property backed up last week when heavy rains fell in his town.

Olive Branch's sewer department says they had a pump go out last week, but the problem is fixed and the system is running again.

"How come every time I get a three inch rain I have five inches of water standing in my yard? And half of that is sewer water," said Masterson.  "The odor, kids' clothes when they get off in it.  Don't know what kind of sickness that this can cause."

Masterson says the problem returned this weekend after the city says it was fixed.
