CHICAGO (AP) - A public Mass for former Chicago first lady Maggie Daley is planned for later in the day.
The wife of former Chicago Mayor Richard Daley died last week after a long battle with cancer.
A public wake and visitation was held Sunday. Mourners streamed through the Chicago Cultural Center as a choir sang in the background. They walked by a closed casket, several flower arrangements and large photograph of a smiling Daley.
The line nearly wrapped around the block and the crowds waited in the rain.
A public Mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Old St. Patrick's Catholic Church near downtown.
Instead of flowers, the Daley family is asking for donations to After School Matters or the Maggie Daley Cancer Center at Northwestern University.
