MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A falling tree cut a mobile home virtually in half, narrowly missing the home owner Sunday morning in McCracken County.
According to the sheriff's office, the mobile home is in Woodlawn Mobile Home Park in Farley.
Deputies were called to the area shortly after 5:30 a.m. for reports of a power outage and suspicious activity.
When deputies arrived to the area, they found a large tree had fallen, and say it cut the mobile home "virtually in half."
Deputies say a large limb of the tree was blocking the door of the home.
The home owner, Michael Borger, 47, was trying to cut through the screen door with a knife so he and his two dogs could get out of the house.
Deputies assisted Borger in getting out. Borger told deputies that he had been asleep on the couch in the living room when the tree crashed through his home.
According to the sheriff's office, the tree completely destroyed the living room area and narrowly missed landing on Borger.
