Ill. man injured after being pinned by tractor

SALINE COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

A Stonefort man was injured after his tractor rolled over and pinned him underneath Saturday afternoon.

According to the Saline County Sheriff's Office, dispatch received a 911 call of a man pinned under a tractor near the intersection of White Oak and Pleasant Valley in Williamson County. 

Walter Vickers, 73, of Stonefort, suffered major injuries and was taken by EMS to the Harrisburg Medical Center landing pad. He was then transported to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana by Lifeflight helicopter.

According to Lt. Tracy Felty, Vickers was trying to move some hay near his farm when the tractor overturned and trapped him for several minutes.  Neighbors and family then pulled Vickers from under the tractor.

Saline County and Williamson County deputies responded along with Saline County EMS.

The Illinois State Police assisted with the call and the accident is being investigated by the Williamson County Sheriff's Department.
