Cadillac blocks I-24 traffic after crash with semi-truck

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

A car blocked traffic on Interstate-24 Saturday morning after colliding with a semi-truck in McCracken County, Ky.

It happened shortly before 10 a.m. on Interstate 24 at the 10 mile marker.

According to the sheriff's office, a semi-tractor trailer driven by Peter K. Ngaruiya, 52, of Dallas, Ga. was westbound and changed lanes and made contact with a car driven by Terry R. Benfer, 72, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Investigators say Benfer's car then spun around and hit the guard rail with the front and back of his car before coming to a stop in the middle of the road blocking one lane.

According to the sheriff's office, the westbound lanes of I-24 were shut down or reduced to one lane for approximately 30 minutes.

Deputies say no one was injured in the accident.
