Man accused of attempted murder after Murphysboro stabbing

MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) -

Murphysboro Police arrested a man accused of attempted murder after a stabbing Tuesday afternoon.

Travis A. Miller is accused of stabbing Christian Sanchuk, 18, of Murphysboro with a knife.

Police responded to St. Joseph Hospital in Murphysboro at 3:42 p.m. Tuesday after a report of a stabbing.

Police say the stabbing happened in the 500 block of North 11th Street in Murphysboro.

Miller was arrested a couple hours later on the northwest side of Murphysboro.

Sanchuk was transferred to a St. Louis hospital in critical condition.
