Good Morning
Today is Wednesday, November 23

It's the day before Thanksgiving and that means grocery stores across the area will be packed! So please be patient and kind to your fellow Heartlandians (is that even a word?).

And there's good news for any of you getting out shopping, working or playing today... there is not any rain in the forecast! But Brian's not quite talking warm weather either. Tune in to The Breakfast Show this morning to see what's in store for your holiday weekend.

If driving is in your plans for the next few days then we also have good news for you this morning. Tyler is checking in with our state highway departments to see how much construction will be out there over the next few days.

Many of us will be getting up early to start cooking - and I, for one, am not going to be cutting back on tasty traditional food. But, if you are looking to trim a few calories and some fat out of the big meal we'll show you pretty easy things you can do that your family won't even notice. See how to do it around 5:45 this morning.

And if you are planning to deep fry a turkey this year - do take the warning seriously. This morning at 5:30 you'll hear from a man who didn't and is now spending Thanksgiving in the hospital.

Plus, if you are a Thanksgiving Day parade watcher - you might notice something different this year. There might be no giant balloons flying above the streets of New York City! We'll tell you why at 5:50.

Of course - it's traditionally the day after Thanksgiving many of you look forward to. And this year Black Friday is turning into Black Midnight. But have you thought about buying gifts using store layaway plan? This morning at 6:10 Stephanie will tell you the good, the bad and the ugly of layaway plans. She'll show you why it may work great for some of you and why the fine print might catch some of you by surprise.

OK - Lauren's done with her Toy Testers stories - time to focus on yourself! This morning she and StormTeam meteorologist Jamie Travers are seeing if "snap On Feathers" for your hair is what you need to look and feel stylish for the holidays. Check out her Does it Work test at 6:15 this morning.

Watch this morning for some very dramatic video of a helicopter crash. A video camera caught the crash as it happened and amazingly the pilot walked away! We'll play the video for the first time shortly after 5 this morning.

Finally - if you're feeling sick over the next few weeks or just playing sick, you're not alone. It turns out, according to a recent study, at least 18% of all workers use remaining sick days in December.

Cough.. cough.... have a great Wednesday and an even better Thanksgiving holiday! I'll be back Monday with your morning update from The Breakfast Show.
