Animal Control agencies in Jackson County, IL are in need of new or used dog houses for dogs that do not have a shelter.
Earlier this week Animal Control Officers used their last dog house to help a family pet get out of the now colder night temperatures.
According to Jackson County Animal Control Officer Lloyd Nelson they use the donated dog houses in acute situations typically in the months of December and January. Nelson says if you don't have a dog house to donate, straw and bedding material will gladly be accepted.
In the past 3 to 4 years Animal Control has received 150 donated dog houses.
Donated dog houses are cleaned or repaired and ready for use in acute situations throughout the winter months. Animal Control Officers can also pick up the donated dog house.
