Ill. group takes part in "Suicide Survival Day"

ANNA, IL (KFVS) - A shocking statistic is that every forty seconds someone dies from a suicide.

For families left behind it's beyond tragic.

Survivors say it's emotionally devastating and also takes a physical toll.

Some suffer guilt and feelings of senselessness.

Because of this families say it's so important to have support groups to help one another begin rebuilding their lives.

"It usually shakes your world apart when it happens. Your whole world is actually gone," said suicide survivor Sharee Dawn Roberts."You have to learn to rebuild your life. But we can help with that. We can help each other with that."

Saturday, a group gathered in Anna to take part in the 13th Annual International Survival of Suicide Day.
