CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - There was a lot more traffic in Cape Girardeau today, where at the Show-Me and Osage Center it was the Annual Arts and Crafts Extravaganza hosted by the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri.
That's where you can be sure to get into the holiday spirit, with 300-vendors set up selling holiday items from chocolate to Christmas wreaths.
The American Red Cross is also at the event hoping shoppers will sign cards for soldiers serving overseas.
The Red Cross also wants kids to make cards for the soldiers, saying that the cards brighten a soldier's day.
"I know myself being in the military in the past, that it is a joy when you get a letter unexpected or even a card that's unexpected," said Lester Wells with the American Red Cross. "You open it up it's quite a joy. I am afraid each one of these is going to be appreciated very much."
The arts council event continues Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $3.
Officials say they are expecting at least 10,000 people to attend the event this weekend.
