Shopping spree held to feed the hungry

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Hundreds of people came out today to celebrate a shopping spree to feed the hungry.

Black Diamond's Bootheel Harley Davidson's Shopping Spree will provide more than 13,000 pounds of food to stock the shelves of the Southeast Missouri Food Bank.

Earlier this month shoppers registered for a chance to shop at Wal-Mart on behalf of the food bank with $100 each to buy groceries.

The Harley dealer sponsored $10,000 for the event.

The two top shoppers won $500 gift cards.

Winners from the event were announced Saturday and people came out for lunch and pictures with Santa.

Wal-mart also presented the foodbank with a $3,000 check.
