Man arrested after tackled during burglary

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Cape Girardeau Police arrested a man accused of breaking into a home and trying to steal items.

Justin David Roach, 26, of Jackson is charged with a class B felony of first degree burglary and a class C felony of stealing.

According to police, Roach is suspected of breaking into a home at 1918 Dunklin on Nov. 15.

The son of the owner came home around 12:09 p.m. while the burglar was still in the home.

Police say the burglar tried to run, but was tackled by the son who was able to recover some of the items.

The suspect got away, but police arrested Roach later.

Roach was taken to the Cape Girardeau Police Department on $35,000 bond.
