Good afternoon. Here are some of the stories we are working to bring you for tonight's Heartland News and on kfvs12.com....

A soldier from Stoddard County was killed in Afghanistan Wednesday morning, according to his family. The Heartland hero's father sat down with Holly Brantley today and talked about his 21-year-old son's service to our country.

A semi truck snarled traffic Thursday morning on Interstate 57 in Union County at the Dongola exit. Road workers say it was a close call as it almost hit them.

A suspected drunk driving crash on U.S. Highway 67 in St. Francois County killed two people Wednesday night. Troopers say the suspect was arrested on two felony counts of vehicular manslaughter and a charge of driving while intoxicated.

Police say a woman was severely injured when she was run over by a car in Christopher. She was taken to an Indiana hospital for treatment.

Police arrested two people after an armed bank robbery in Lone Oak.  The two face several charges, including drug charges after meth was found within reach of an 8-year-old.

Check your shelves because one company is recalling some 16-ounce jars of its Smucker's Natural Peanut Butter Chunky sold in several states because of possible salmonella contamination.
