CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - The SIUC Faculty Association has signed a tentative agreement with the SIUC administration.
The parties signed off on the agreement Monday.
Faculty Association members went on strike for about a week over contractual disagreements in November. The strike ended Nov. 9.
The Faculty Association's Departmental Representative Council will discuss the tentative agreement on Thursday, Nov. 17. There will be a general membership meeting on Monday, Nov. 28 for members to ask questions and a vote by all dues-paying members on Wednesday, Nov. 30, according to SIUC Faculty Association spokesperson David Johnson.
The agreement will have to be voted on by the SIU Board of Trustees before its legally binding.
Pay raises for the faculty will go into effect in January 2012, according to Jim Clark with the Illinois Education Association.
