BENTON, MO (KFVS) - Three men face felony stealing charges after an investigation into several thousand dollars worth of copper wire stolen from a local farmer.
Mathew Bristow, 26, of Co. Hwy. 333 in Benton, has been charged with felony stealing. His bond is set at $10,000.
Jeffrey Bunch Jr., 23, of Co. Hwy 331 in Benton, has been charged with felony stealing, resisting arrest, leaving the scene of an accident, and property damage. His bond is set at $25,000.
Michael Gunter, 20, of Hwy 77 in Benton has been charged with felony stealing. His bond is set at $15,000.
Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter says deputies were led on a short chase Thursday evening as they investigated the theft of copper wires from an irrigation center pivot.
Walter says the driver of the vehicle crashed into a fence before running on foot.
Deputies arrested the suspects later at their homes.
Walter expects additional charges to be filed soon against the three men for unrelated charges.
