BONNE TERRE, MO (KFVS) - Four people were arrested and one man charged after a weekend shooting in Bonne Terre.
According to the Bonne Terre Police Department, officers went to a home on south B Street around 7 p.m. Saturday.
Inside, they found a 51-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the leg just above the knee.
The victim told police the alleged shooter left.
Officers found the 62-year-old Archibald P. Dowell nearby. He admitted to shooting the woman and told police it was in self defense. He claims the woman actually pulled a gun on him. Officers recovered a handgun that matched the victim's description.
Police arrested Dowell and the three people with him.
Dowell is charged with armed criminal action and first degree assault. His bond is set at $125,000 cash only.
One man was booked for a warrant through Jefferson County with charges pending.
Charges are pending against the other two suspects.
