Fredericktown man injured in alleged DWI crash

FREDERICKTOWN, MO (KFVS) - A Fredericktown man is injured in a Saturday night car crash.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, it happened at 10:05 p.m. on Route J, two miles east of town.

Troopers say 20-year-old Zachary Spangler as westbound on Route J when his 1994 GMC ran off the left side of the roadway and ran into a detached garage with a vehicle parked inside.

A 2004 Lincoln parked inside the garage was damaged extensively, but no one was in the car at the time.

Spangler was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and police say he was intoxicated.

Spangler sustained moderate injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Madison Medical Center in Fredericktown for treatment. No word on his condition.

The 20 year old was cited for Driving While Intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.
