CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - It won't happen for another 100 years. 11-11-11 Is the date lucky? One Heartland couple hopes so.
"It's her lucky day," said Lisa Reed, sister of the bride.
"Because 11-11 you make a wish," said Bride Kristi Reed.
Kristi Reed's family says she's liked the number 11 since she was a little girl.
"Every time we would drive in the car and the clock would come on 11-11 she would make a wish," said Reed's mother Barbara Reed.
And there was always one thing she wished for.
"She always wished she would get married on 11-11," said Barbara Reed.
"I was like that's crazy that's not going to happen," said Lisa Reed.
But it did happen. The couple got married on Friday November 11, 2011.
"My mom was like, I can't believe that happened. You've always wanted it, but I didn't think it would actually come true," said Kristi Reed.
"It just so happened that we met and started dating and it got serious about the time that we could get engaged just after last Christmas, and we could have it today," said Groom David Templeton.
"I said you know I've always wanted to get married on 11-11-11, and he said well maybe it will happen," said Kristi Reed.
"He was like I'm going to do it before so she that she could actually get married on this day so I was really excited for her," said Lisa Reed.
Templeton said he didn't mind his bride's wish.
"I was ok with it," said Templeton. "It's easy to remember, I don't think I'll forget it's probably the best thing for me."
East to remember, but does he think it's actually lucky?
"I hope so, anything helps," said Templeton.
Kristi Reed says she knows so.
"Because I've always believed in it and I've always wanted it," said Kristi Reed.
"She found the perfect man for the perfect day," said Barbara Reed.
