CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

It's a special day for babies born on November 11, 2011.

It's also a special day at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau where 11 babies were born at the hospital on 11-11-11, all before 6 p.m.

On Veterans Day the 11th baby boy was born to a Navy recruiter and his wife.

"It was pretty ironic, I think," said Lance Berry, a Navy Recruiter. "It crossed all of our minds, you know, thinking about it. I guess went I left today, we really didn't expect it. I thought it was gonna happen next week. I got a phone call, and had to get over here."

"We have been looking forward to this for a while. Back in Norfolk we had talked about it. One day, today … Veterans Day," he added.

According to hospital officials, that number of deliveries is an all time record.

According to Felecia Blanton with Saint Francis, the average number of deliveries per day is 5.

Blanton says the even more amazing thing is none of the babies born were planned deliveries for this date.

Here are the babies that were born:

7:33 am – Payton Lee Simpson

8:17 am – Colby Steven Fenwick

8:58 am – Zarianna Yvonne Ricks

10:48 am – Saylor Faye Rusher

11:37 am – Peyton Lane Cowger

12:28 pm – Alyissah Skye Bolden
