PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - The elderly husband and wife missing since Thursday were found in Benton, Ky. Friday.
They are OK.
Overnight investigators issued a Golden Alert for the two. A Golden Alert is similar to an Amber Alert but it is for the elderly.
Officers were looking for Charles and Hilda Jackson, both 87.
According to Paducah Police, the couple stayed in a Hutington, Ky. and drove to Benton, Ky. where they called their son.
Benton Police made contact with them and stayed with them until the couple's son could arrive.
"Had a lot of thoughts go through my mind through the night, because I didn't know if they were safe at the time," said their son Eddie Johnson. "It was good to know they had a good place to stay and that somebody picked up the phone and told me where they were."
Police asked for the public's help finding the missing Paducah couple. Investigators say the couple's son reported them missing Thursday.
Officers say Hilda Jackson and Charles Jackson were last seen around 11:30 a.m. Thursday leaving their home in the 500 block of Ridgewood Street in Paducah.
They were driving a white 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis with Kentucky plates 500-GSK.
Investigators believe they may have been on their way to the SuperValu on Lone Oak Road.
Police say they were told both Mr. and Mrs. Jackson suffer from dementia.
