Today is Thursday, November 10
Just a couple weeks ago we were all talking about a Freese helping the Cards win the World Series. Now this morning we're all talking about a real freeze, the kind that's hitting the Heartland this morning and even harder overnight into Friday. Brian's crunching the numbers to see just how cold it will be where you live and will be updating us throughout The Breakfast Show starting at 4:30.
And if it's cold weather you really want - look no further than Alaska. We'll show you some video this morning from Alaska where they are getting hit by a massive storm.
Here in the Heartland this morning there's good news coming out of Carbondale where the strike at SIUC is over. All morning on The Breakfast Show you'll hear from both sides about the agreement.
But it's not all good news for universities across the country. Out east the Penn State board of trustees has fired legendary football coach Joe Paterno. And he's not alone; they also fired the schools president. This morning we have a lot of new information coming out of Penn State about these firings and the ongoing sexual abuse of a minor investigation that started it all.
Overnight, there has also been new video coming into the newsroom from Michigan where the presidential candidates squared off in another debate.
This morning at 5:10 we also have something kind of funny you should see. In Washington, D.C. yesterday lawmakers were holding a hearing on the future of the post office when John McCain started joking about just getting a smart phone.
If you watch the Breakfast Show this morning you will also see a couple of amazing videos that have come into the newsroom overnight. One of them shows a group of people lifting a car off the ground to save a young boy. The other shows a massive fire at a pipeline in Egypt.
Around 5:45 this morning Jim and Lauren will be talking about a new device being used for physical therapy that makes your body feel like it's in zero gravity. It's called the Thera Suit and it could change rehab as we know it.
As we all know - times are tough all over. The economy is in the tank, jobs are hard to find and even your home might be worth less that was last week. But there is hope for some struggling people this holiday season. This morning Tyler Profilet will be telling you how to find a good seasonal job.
I hope you're heater is working well in your home and car this morning! I know I had to scrape off some frost around 1:30 this morning, so you might also need to find your scraper if you're parked outside.
