Cape Girardeau Police investigate counterfeit bills

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Cape Girardeau Police are investigating a couple of counterfeit bills given to a business and the license bureau.

A business owner took a suspicious-looking $100 bill to Capaha Bank to see if it was fake.  The bank determined it was a fake and called police.

On Tuesday, a clerk at the license bureau took a counterfeit $20 bill as a payment.  When she found it in her desk later, she called police.

Both cases are under investigation.
