DYER COUNTY, TN (KFVS) - One week after her disappearance, authorities from multiple states continue to comb Dyer County for Karen Swift.

Sheriff Jeff Box says they are treating every search area as a potential crime scene.

That's because they are not ruling out foul play. However at this point, this is still a missing person's case.

Sheriff Box says they've found a number of items they consider potential evidence. Those are being processed at crime labs around the state.

"All of the potential evidence is important to analyze and get to the bottom of her disappearance," said Sheriff Box. "We're waiting on more information on a number of things."

Sheriff Box would not elaborate on the nature of the items discovered.

Sunday, Scott County K9 Search and Rescue joined the effort. The team is an experienced group and has worked on numerous searches, including missing mother Jacque Waller.

"We just want to bring these families closure," said Marshia Morton of the K9 team.

"Every time we clear an area, that's another step closer to finding the answers these families need," said Claire Stadt.

Sheriff Jeff Box says they've discovered potential evidence every day since Swift went missing. He says they will continue to bring in a variety of teams this week as they continue to search for Swift.
