Paducah man accused of DUI in motorcycle crash

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - A Paducah man was injured early Wednesday evening following a motorcycle crash in McCracken County. Deputies say the man was driving under the influence.

It happened shortly after 5:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Glenn Street.

Richard Hughes, 49, of Atkins Ave. in Paducah was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs/alcohol 2nd offense, no motorcycle license and failure of owner/operator to maintain insurance 1st offense.

According to the sheriff's office, Hughes was trying to turn around on Glenn Street when he lost control, and laid the bike in the middle of the street. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators say Hughes was operating the motorcycle while intoxicated.

He was cited by deputies to court while at the hospital.

Deputies say Hughes was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
