SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) - A Sikeston man was sentenced on a reduced charged in the 2009 shooting of his girlfriend.
Brandon Lane pleaded guilty and was sentenced to to eight years in prison for armed criminal action and seven years for involuntary manslaughter. The sentences are to be served consecutively.
Lane was originally charged with 2nd degree murder.
Officers say they found Lane's girlfriend with a gunshot wound in her upper body in April 2009 with Lane sitting on the couch next to her and a gun on the floor.
