GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - KY 80 is now open after a log truck overturned, scattering a load of logs across the road Tuesday.  Both lanes were closed for six hours.

David Douglas Jr. 46, of Barlow fell asleep at the wheel, crossed into the median and overturned, according to the Graves County Sheriff's Office.

The crash was on the westbound side of KY 80.

Douglas Jr. was trapped in the truck for three hours.  He treated and released with minor injuries.

After the log truck crashed, James Vasquez, 32, of Mayfield was driving eastbound, didn't see the logs and hit them.  He fled the scene because he had a suspended operator's license and did not help the driver of the semi, according to the Graves County Sheriff's Office.  A passerby noticed the crashes and reported them.

About 40 minutes later, deputies say Vasquez came back to the scene with his wife saying she was the driver.  After questioning Vasquez admitted he was the driver of the van.

Vasquez is charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failure to render aid, failure to report and accident, falsely reporting an incident, driving on a suspended OL, no insurance, and failure to notify DOT of an address change.

He was taken to the Graves County Jail.
