Gunshots, booze, and a hatchet make for bizarre incident in Graves Co.

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

According to Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon, about 6:30 a.m. Sunday deputies responded to a shots fired call in the Hubbard Street area of Water Valley.

Upon investigation by the Deputy and Mayfield Police officers, it was determined that the shots came from the front porch of a house at 71 School Street.

There were several occupants in the residence and they had to be brought out at gunpoint.

According to the Sheriff's Office, one of the occupants, Kenon Andrews, refused to comply with orders and attempted to charge a Mayfield officer using a hatchet as a weapon.

He was subdued, but remained disorderly.

After further investigation, it was determined that Andrews had become intoxicated and was outside yelling towards his neighbors residences.

He then allegedly grabbed a shotgun and fired four rounds towards the street.

The shotgun was recovered under a bed in the residence.

Kenon Andrews was placed under arrest for Wanton Endangerment 1st , Wanton Endangerment 1st on a police officer, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Disorderly Conduct.

He was taken to the Graves County Jail.

The Mayfield Police Department and Kentucky State Police assisted the sheriff's office.

The investigation continues.
