AR man injured in car vs. deer wreck

BUTLER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - An Arkansas man is hospitalized after hitting a deer Saturday night in Butler County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, it happened on U.S. 67 south of U.S. 160.

Troopers say 38-year-old Frank Witowski of Corning was wearing a seatbelt, but still sustained moderate injuries in the crash.

Authorities say fall mating season, hunting season, and the fall harvest all contribute to more deer collisions with cars.

If you see deer near or on the roadway, police say you should slow down, but don't veer out of your lane.

Swerving could cause you to lose control or hit an on-coming vehicle.
