Service dog fundraiser helps to provide therapy for injured veterans

CARTERVILLE, IL (KFVS) -

A fundraiser was held in Carterville Saturday to support ongoing therapy for veterans involving service dogs.

It was held at The Depot at Walker's Bluff Winery.

Saturday afternoon the public was invited to meet service dogs and have their picture taken with them, along with other activities.

The fundraiser was held to support "This Able Veteran" dogs. The service dogs provide therapy services for local injured veterans. According to a press release, their goal is to provide a forum to educate the community and region about the valuable service they provide.

An evening fundraiser was planned featuring food, a silent auction and live music for $50 per person.
