DESOTO, IL (KFVS) -

Police say the Handee-Mart in Desoto, Ill. was hit by a car just before 8 a.m. Friday.

Deputy Ron Stanton says the 21-year-old driver from Murphysboro pulled up, his foot slipped off the break and hit the gas.

The car jumped over the parking lot and hit the wall.  It pushed the brick in and broke the wall on the inside.

Stanton says it knocked over display items, but did not drive through the wall.

The man was not intoxicated. No tickets were issued.

Damage ranges from $5,000 to $10,000.

The store clerk says a week and a half to two weeks ago, a woman drove into the front of the store in a different spot.  No one was hurt.  There was not as much damage in that incident.
