CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Main Street in Cape Girardeau re-opened to traffic Thursday.
The stretch of road from Olive Street to South Mill is now open.
It's been closed since April as construction crews continue working to re-locate Main Street for the construction of the Isle of Capri casino.
The street project however is not complete, so drivers should expect lane closures and other delays for the next few weeks.
Meanwhile, a lot of work is happening at the casino site.
They're working on constructing the floating platform for the casino.
Plus, before long they'll start taking applications.
"We're anticipating the general manager, whoever he or she is, to be in place by the end of the year and right after that they'll start hiring staff and setting up a training program and everything else," said Dick Meister Isle of Capri VP of Design and Construction.
Isle's vice president of design and construction says the casino is still expected to open by December of 2012.
