Man accused of robbing taxi driver, stealing cab

DYERSBURG, TN (KFVS) -

A man faces a robbery charge after police say he stole a taxi cab Saturday night.

James Emmit Moses Jr., 39 of Dyersburg, Tenn. is charged with aggravated robbery.

Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Boxx says they received a call from the TTT Taxi Cab Company reporting a driver missing.

The driver was supposed to pick up a person on Bruce street and drop off the rider off on Memorial Lane.  But, police say the driver was robbed at gunpoint of $25 on Slaughter Pen Road.

Boxx says the cab was later found in the 730 block of Grant Street, but the key and driver were missing.

The driver of the cab returned to the office of the TTT Taxi Cab Company uninjured.

Two Dyer County Sheriff's deputies found Moses in a camper trail on River St. and arrested him Saturday night.
