Ohio River Bridge reduced to one lane for repairs

WICKLIFFE, KY (KFVS) - The Ohio River Bridge Between Wickliffe and Cairo will be reduced Wednesday, Oct. 19 through Friday, Oct. 28.

The lane and width restrictions on the Ohio River Bridge are to allow deck repair work.

The work zone will include a 9 ft. maximum load width and one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by an automated signal.

Lane and width restrictions will be in place around the clock once work starts due to curing time required for concrete being used in the deck repair process. The maintenance crew will attempt to phase the work so lane and width restrictions can be taken down on Saturday and Sunday.

Delays are expected to me minimal, generally less than seven minutes.

Also known as The Cairo Bridge, the US 51/US 60/US 62 Wickliffe-Cairo Bridge carries about 5,500 vehicles across the Ohio River each day between Wickliffe, KY, and Cairo, IL, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
