FRANKLIN COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - Ameren Illinois reports power has been restored to Franklin County.
At one point, nearly 8,000 or 48 percent of Ameren customers in Franklin County were without power.
According to Ameren, the outage was caused by a line issue which caused a substation switch to trip. Ameren spokesperson Victoria Busch says a device failure that took place at one of the substations, but affected three subtransmission lines.
Busch says the outages were in the Benton, Sesser, and Christopher areas.
