Paducah woman goes into labor after crash

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - A Paducah woman went in labor after being involved in a two car crash late Sunday morning.

It happened around 11:31 a.m. on Rickman Road in McCracken County, Ky.

Deputies say a pickup driven by Michael Chittendel, 32, of Omaha, Illinois was pushing a car that wasn't running being occupied by Misty McDaniel, 29, of Paducah. The two vehicles were going southbound on Rickman Road, officers said.

According to deputies, Autumn Dawes, 20, of Paducah was headed westbound on Old US 60 when McDaniel's car was pushed into her lane of traffic, failing to yield right of way. This caused the two cars to collide, officers said.

Deputies say Dawes was nine months pregnant and was taken by EMS to a Paducah area hospital, where she went into labor because of the crash.

Concord Fire Department assisted on the scene.
