STE. GENEVIEVE COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - One person was hurt Friday morning after a tractor-trailer hit a Missouri Department of Transportation vehicle in Ste. Genevieve County.

According to  the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop C, it happened around 8:05 Friday morning at the 149 mile marker of southbound Interstate 55.

Troopers say the MoDOT truck was straddling the fog line on the left shoulder when the driver of the semi, Calvin N. Rutledge, 57, of Memphis, Tenn.  tried to change lanes to pass in the left lane.

That's when the front of the semi hit the rear of the MoDOT truck, according to the highway patrol.

The driver of the MoDOT truck, Jerry J. Bieser, 52, of Farmington received minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to a Ste. Genevieve hospital.

The highway patrol says both drivers were wearing seat belts.
