Ill. crash leaves Mo. man with severe injuries

State police say a man had life-threatening injuries after a crash Thursday on Route 3, south of Ware, Illinois.

According to Illinois State Police, it was a 2-vehicle crash around 2:26 p.m. A passenger car collided with a semi-truck on Route 3 just south of Refuge Road.

Police say the car driven by Phillip E. Bailey, 33, of Dexter, Mo. crossed the center line into the path of the semi-truck. The car then hit the semi-truck driven by Mark J. Millering, 53, of Jackson, Mo. Both the car and semi ran off the road.

According to ISP, Bailey was taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital for treatment.

The crash closed one lane of highway for a short time.
