DEXTER, MO (KFVS) -

A Mississippi man was put behind bars after ramming a patrol car, and leading police on a chase Wednesday in Stoddard County.

Frank Bivalacqua, 31, of Columbia, Miss. was charged with the Class A felony of 1st degree Assault of a law enforcement officer, armed criminal action, felony resisting arrest, felony property damage and leaving the scene of an accident, according to the prosecuting attorney.

According to information from the probable cause statement, Police were contacted after Bivalacqua and another woman were acting suspicious and reportedly did not pay for gas at a store on AD Highway.

Police identified the vehicle and saw the man exit his truck onto Highway 60 and a chase ensued. Officers say Bivalacqua rammed a patrol car during the chase sending the officer's car to the median.

Another patrol car followed chase and Bivalacqua truck ran off the right side of the road, hit a culvert and came to a stop. A passenger was taken by EMS from the scene.

According to information from the probable cause statement, Bivalacqua said he ran from officers because of an outstanding warrant out of Mississippi.

He was being held on a $50,000 cash only bond.
