Malden man charged with trafficking cocaine

MALDEN, MO (KFVS) -

A Malden man is facing cocaine trafficking charges after being stopped by police in Arkansas.

Raymond Wilson, Jr., 35, of Malden was arrested on October 2 and charged with trafficking cocaine. Wilson was taken to the Mississippi County, Ark. Justice Center.

Police say investigators learned Wilson was going to Texas to get large amounts of cocaine. When Wilson left on Oct. 1 for Texas, authorities gave Arkansas State Police and 2nd Judicial Drug Task Force his vehicle information.

Wilson's car was stopped on I-55 northbound, south of Blytheville, Arkansas. A K-9 search found 10.5 ounces of powdered cocaine, police said.

The Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney's Office is considering additional charges.

Police say the investigation is continuing.
