DEXTER, MO (KFVS) -

A Dexter man is accused of a stabbing another man after a fight on Monday night.

According to court documents, officers were called to a fight around 11:56 p.m. on Walter Street in Bernie late Monday.

When officers got there the home owner told them someone yelled to "call an ambulance," according to information from the probable cause statement. Police say when they looked inside it looked like there had been some sort of a struggle in the home.

The documents state that the home owner admitted to police she and another man took a stabbing victim to a Dexter hospital.

When officers arrived at the hospital, the victim told police he and the suspect, Coby Morlan had been fighting.

Information in the probable cause statement shows the victim says the two men were arguing earlier, but weren't fighting when he says Morlan actually stabbed him several times with some sort of kitchen knife.

The victim then told police he and some friends were in the kitchen drinking when Morlan walked up and stabbed him in the front and the back. Police say Morland tried to stab him  again, but the victim pulled away.

Morlan faces charges of 1st degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.

Morlan was taken to the Bernie jail on $75,000 cash only bond.
