REIDLAND, KY (KFVS) -

Authorities have reopened a road they closed in McCracken County early Monday morning. The incident happened in the community of Reidland on the east side of Paducah.

Police say Berry M. Wilson, 44, surrendered to police after allegedly threatening to shoot at officers and kill himself.

The situation started around 1:30 Monday morning when a caller at 235 Tudor Boulevard said Wilson was armed, drunk, and threatening to kill himself.

When police arrived, they were told that someone in the home took Wilson's gun away from him, but that Wilson had gotten another gun in the home and was threatening to shoot officers and himself.

Two people were evacuated from the home as well as others in the neighborhood.

Police were able to contact Wilson, who then cut off negotiations for a few hours before surrendering shortly before 9 a.m.

Wilson is charged with third degree terroristic threatening.

He's being evaluated by a mental health professional.

The scene is now clear, and at this time, no one has been reported injured.
