Ty Margenthaler Era Begins at SEMO

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) New Southeast Missouri State women's head basketball coach TY Margenthaler hit the court at the Rec Center Sunday leading his team through the first practice of the season.

Division 1 women's teams are allowed to begin practice 40 days prior to their first game, but are still allowed only 30 practices.

Margenthaler takes over a program that has struggled the past two seasons with back-to-back losing years.

Coach Margenthaler likes the make-up of his team and how they have accepted him and his new coaching staff.

"Right now they are doing everything I ask for and I'm really excited about that," Margenthaler said.
"You know it's like anything else, to our success we need to stay healthy, we need to stay together."

The Redhawks return their top five scorers from a year ago and will take the court for the first time in an exhibition against Harris-Stowe on Nov. 7.
