ELDORADO, IL (KFVS) -

Police arrested an Eldorado man for allegedly trying to abduct two members of a cross country team. It happened Thursday afternoon during a team practice at a local park.

Shannon Earl Pryor, 73, of Eldorado was arrested on charges of child abduction and disorderly conduct, police said.

According to the Saline County Sheriff's Office, the coach of the middle school girls team called police Thursday afternoon. This was after she heard reports that Pryor allegedly told two 5th grade girls to get into his car.

Deputies approached Pryor when they got to Karel Park. Deputies say Pryor told them he was just reading and had not spoken to anyone.

Pryor was taken to Saline County Detention Center and was later released on bond.
