Caruthersville Humane Society looks for pets for calendar

CARUTHERSVILLE, MO (KFVS) -

The Caruthersville Humane Society is looking for rescue-pets for its 2012 calendar.

The calendar theme for 2012 will be Pets of Pemiscot County.

The Humane Society asks for the suggestions of a historical location in your town for the photo to be taken.

The calendar will tell the stories of some local rescued animals and spotlight the history of Pemiscot County.

Rescue-pet owners can submit photos and stories about their pet by emailing the shelter at umsoc@hotmail.com or posting on the Caruthersville Humane Society's Facebook Page.

Photos and stories can also be dropped off at the shelter at 501 E. Industrial Drive, near the bypass on South Ward in Caruthersville.

The deadline for submissions is October 15.

Local businesses or individuals may also sponsor a month for $50 or the back cover for $150.

The shelter is open for adoptions Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Donations can be made to P.O. Box 345 Caruthersville, MO 63830 or dropped off at the shelter.

    The person of interest in the double-murder and bank robbery in Conway on Monday is in custody. Brandon MIchael Council was arrested in Greenville, North Carolina Wednesday, along with two other people, authorities there confirmed.  Brandon Michael Council was wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of two CresCom bank employees during a bank robbery at the CresCom Bank in Conway on Monday afternoon.
