PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

Deputies are seeking the public's help in finding suspects involved in Paducah area air-conditioning thefts.

There has been an increase in thefts of heating and air units and or the coils from within the units at various places in McCracken County, according to Lt. Matt Carter.

He says places include the Newton Creek Baptist Church on Ogden Landing Road near the Ballard County Line, and the Schneidman Road Baptist Church located at the corner of Theobold and Schneidman Road.

Carter says on September 27 at around 8:45 p.m.,  suspects went inside Warren Heating and Air on Bleich Road, near the intersection of Lone Oak Road beside K-Mart. The vehicle had at least 2 people inside and several heating and air units from behind the business were stolen, he said.

Deputies say the vehicle was headed from the Old Mayfield Road area before it stopped at the business, turned left out of the parking lot and then went towards Lone Oak Road after the theft.

Officers believe the vehicle is a 1989 model Chevrolet or GMC truck, long wheel base two tone, possibly red-maroon and white-cream colored truck, Carter said. The truck may not have a tailgate and the right rear wheel may be missing the black center cap. The truck is believed to be a 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton vehicle, he said.

Deputies are asking anyone with information leading to the I. D. and arrest of the suspect or suspects responsible for any of these thefts, or can identify the location and or owner of the vehicle shown in the photo, to contact West Kentucky Crime Stoppers at 270-443-TELL (8355) or the McCracken County Sheriff Department at 270-444-4719.

Deputies say information to police leading to an arrest is eligible for a cash reward up to $1000.
